"Dispatcher Directions"
Top The Trailer!

This happened in Chicago.
Now that I no longer work for Northland, I'll say that I was on a specific
route sent to me by the dispatchers.
I was told to be on the road I was on!
When I saw the bridge height at 13'4" I figured the dispatcher knew my trailer would clear.
I creeped very slowly under the bridge and that's why the damage is minimal.

I read the bridge height.
13'4" What??? I thought. I'm on the right road...
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

The trailer mechanic strapped the trailer - strap the dispatcher -
so I could go down the road to deliver the freight and get
the trailer to the shop.
This repair cost $3,000 which I paid 10%.
Dispatchers make these kind of mistakes often.
Me, only once. I've been keeping this kind of gripe suppressed
under the conditions of my employment, however now that
"dispatcher intelligence" no longer applies, I'll say what I know to be true.

wHeW!
