The YWCA of Japan publishes a monthly newsletter in Japanese which is distributed to the membership and other interested parties. It publishes a quarterly English newsletter containing excerpts selected and translated from the monthly newsletters. Staff members in Tokyo select articles and Margaret does the translation and DTP for the English newsletter. The following sample translation is taken from recent publications.

Rates: will vary according to such things as content and turn-around time. I normally charge between 12 and 16 cents per English word ($75-90 for 1000 Japanese characters in source text) for translating, and $30 per hour for editing. Please contact me for more details.
