Review: Another gripping tale that David Gemmell has created...an adventure that never seems to stop even after the story is over. The story takes place after Ghost King. Uther is king of the realm and Culain his friend has betrayed him with having an affair with his wife. The king is in a deep depression and his realm is restless. Somewhere a boy who does not know his true identity will discover the truth and it will spiral him into a dangerous path that he must walk in order to save his love. Foes will become allies and friends will become foes.

I like this book, what can I say. It has few surprises that would make the readers get interested in the story. The characters have depth and specific personality, the story well-written, and the settings are extravagant. I was caught up with the plot and the characters so much that I would keep reading into the night. It is such a great book and truly entertaining. Another worthy piece of work by David Gemmell that is genuinely worthwhile to read.
