"As often as a study is cultivated by narrow minds, they will draw from it narrow conclusions."

Wanted Guest

She sits quietly in her living room on the couch
As her fingers constantly touch the phone as if to call to make sure
But she knows the guest will come but in her heart there was doubt

Time seems to be passing by or so it seems

Anxiously, she begins to pace back and forth in distress
Oh, how could she be so blinded by her desire?
And not see that she could have avoided this whole mess

Time seems to be passing by or so it seems

It was only yesterday that they had talked about it
Agreeing that today would be the day
Yet here she is feeling like she's been rejected and hit

Time seems to be passing by or so it seems

A sudden knock brings her back from her thought
Excitement suddenly fills her heart, embedding deeply
Realizing her long waiting was not for naught
She opens the door with a smile after she sees the guest standing there
And all doubt fled from her in an instant
To be replaced with contentment that she could hardly bear
