I do not want to lose you

I do not want to love you

I do not want to see your tears

Tears that bring me to emotions far deeper than I can truly fathom

And so I make a choice

A choice that brings pain and great fear

But a pain and a fear that will die with time

Like the soft ticks from a clock

For now I choose to walk away

And leave you with memories of what I was

And what you wanted me to be

But not of what I truly am
