>The Apnex Sea
Ch'Rihan is a world of seas, rather than oceans. The most beloved of these is the Apnex Sea which seperates the continents of Folloss, Umrika, and Valcaria. The tropical islands of the Sath'har Archipelago are located with the warm waters of the Apnex sea just south of the equator.
For centuries Romulan poets have rapsodized about the purplish waves and gentle breezes of the Apnex . Umrika's northern coast, the strip of land situated between the Wall of Fire Mountains and the Apnex sea is one of the most temperate and delightful regions on Romulus, in spite of the occassional minor quake. Small cities and towns dot the coastal region, chief among these the ancient harbor of Dinalla, home to the noble house s'K're. Only Bareldak Trel, standing tall and pround at the southern end of the enormous Bay of Bareldak, could truly be considered a major city.
Romulans living along this warm, more relaxed Apenex seashore of northern and western Umrika have adapted a slower, more easy going lifestyle than most Romulans and often have a more relaxed attitude about most subjects. They are known for their "scanty" garments, which tend to scandalize more proper Romulans from latitudes where thicker, more elaborate dress remains the only appropriate fashion.
