         Joy Ang                                       Contact Singapore

(You will perhaps notice we have a lady heading the list and a lady ending it. That’s because we are there to enhance our male committee members by our support. )

The purpose of the WASBC is to promote business and cultural interest for our West Australian members and those members who are Singaporean permanent residents and their families.

In order that our members can continue to practice and enjoy their ethnic and cultural festivals in this wonderful land of West Australia, we will, with the help of volunteers form our membership organize as many of the festivities as possible and to promote the opportunity for net working among our business and corporate members.

It is hope that with the attandance of our members at these festivities, our members will take the opportunity to get to know each other in an informal atmosphere. This will enable every one of us to widen our field of friends and the more friends we have the better our lives will be enriched.

Before I end I would like to announce that International Business Council to which West Australia Singapore Business Council is a member, has organized a “ball of the year “ at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the 26th May 2000 at the Grand Ballroom. It is envisage that it will be a grand affair and every country’s association or council is encouraged to take at least one table of 10 person in order that all 33 members countries will get to meet each other in a friendly envoronment. If any members would like to attend this ball, please see me, as invitation cards are limited. They are at $95.00 per person with food, various wines, entertainment and excellent doors and raffle prizes with return trips to Singapore.

Now I would like to take this opportunity to thank Katherine Foo, Mary Yap and Stephen Yap, Jennifer my Secretary form Singapore who is on holiday here and Eddie Kwah for assisting in organising this evening event.

I would also like to thank Margaret An of Encore Food for the delicious paws which were given to us with her compliment and for those who enjoy them, Margaret will have available her business pamphlets for your use and also for the 3 gift vouchers which will be drawn as a door prizes.

I would also like to thank Claudine Wee of Jas marketing, T/a Jas Sushi who has with her compliments give us the Sushi to compliment our taste Bud.

For those who are interested, I am sure Claudine will have some cards available . it would be nice if you have a party at home to be able to serve sushi and now you will know where to get them.

The Red Castle has donated a bottle of Champagne and Avis and Bill of Golden Swan Cruise has donated 2 gift vouchers, one for ‘Up River Scenic Cruise’ and one for ‘Down River Scenic Cruise’.

I now wish you good luck to a door prize to end a beautiful evening.
