Narrow Escape Of Being Gored To Death By Mad Bull

Had it not been for the timely arrival of A.R. Gould and Elmer Howard at Hobart Hill Farm, on Tuesday afternoon, Lewis Churchill, about sixty years of age might have been fatally injured, when a 4-year-old bull attacked him in the barn.

Mr. Churchill had just brought some cattle into the barn, where the bull is always kept, and for some unknown cause the bull broke its fastenings, making direct for Mr. Churchill. before the latter could get out of the infuriated bull's way, he was thrown to the ground and gored several times. At this point Mr. A. R. Gould, owner of the farm, accompanied by Mr. Elmer Howard drove up to the barn. On entering Mr. Howard seeing the precarious position Mr. Churchill was in, seized a pitchfork which he used to good advantage and drove the bull from its victim, and had it safely tied up in its regular place in the barn.

Fearing that Mr. Churchill was seriously injured Mr. Gould had him rushed to the Presque Isle general Hospital, where he was examined and, attended to by Dr. Dobson. At present writing Mr. Churchill is reported to be suffering from a punctured side, and a few broken ribs.
