Muriel Duncan Becomes Bride


Weds R. W. Collins Of Lynn, Mass., At Washburn Home


WASHBURN, Sept. 28 [1941]--Muriel Cumming Duncan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Duncan, Jr., became the bride of Richard William Collins of Lynn, Mass:, son of Harold Collins, Lynn, Mass., and Mrs. Alice Collins. Bangor, in a ceremony at the home of the bride Wednesday at 7 p. m.

The single ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Nelson E. Felch of the Baptist church in the presence of immediate relatives.

The bride was gowned in aqua colored silk jersey floor length and complemented her gown with a corsage of Talisman roses. The maid of honor Miss Katrina Anderson of Colby, wore floor length gown of peach grosgrain taffeta with corsage of shaded lavender sweet peas. Wilmot Duncan, brother of the bride, attended the groom.

The home was decorated with late garden flowers, and the living room where the bridal party stood was decorated with basket of gladioli and cut flowers in pastel shades.

The bride's mother wore a rose colored silk crepe gown with a corsage of mixed sweet peas.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held which was attended by over a hundred people. Assisting the bride and bridegroom in receiving were their attendants, Mr. and Mrs, W. L. Duncan, Jr., and the Rev. and Mrs. Felch. The guest book was in charge of Mrs. Guy Turner and the gift table in charge of Helen Duncan, sister of the bride. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Alex Duncan and Mrs. K. J. Duncan assisted by Mrs. John Dow and Mrs. Gerald Flewelling. A bride's cake gift of Mrs. Alex Duncan was cut by the bride.

Mrs. Collins is a graduate of Washburn High school in the class of 1937 and was employed in Bangor with Byron H. Smith Co., for a time, and more recently in Winthrop, Mass.

Mr. Collins is a graduate of Lynn English High school and is employed with Checker Taxi; Inc., of Lynn, Mass. They will be at home in Lynn, Mass. after today.
