WASHBURN, Sept. 29 [1941] - Z. W. Doody of this town ownes what he believes to be the oldest pair of woolen mittens in the state - just a century old tomorrow.
The mittens were knit Sept. 30, 1841, for Mr. Doody's mother, who was then one month old. They are of brown and white wool, knit in sawtooth pattern, and are still in good condition.
