McIsaac-McConnell

WASHBURN, Oct. 10 [1941]--Dorothy Merle McConnell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence McConnell of Fredericton, N. B., became the bride of Pvt. James J. McIsaac, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodburn Mc-Isaac of Washburn, Sept. 30 at Fredericton, N, B.. The Rev. P. J. Trafton of the Reformed Baptist church officiated at the parsonage in the presence of immediate relatives and friends.

The bride wore a street length dress of empire blue crepe with black accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Her maid of honor, Miss Marguerite Logan, wore gold wool crepe with brown accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. The bridegroom was attended: by Earle R. Pybus. The wedding march was played by Dorothy Perry, R. N., who also played "I Love You Truly" during the signing of the register. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, where a buffet lunch was served.

Preceding her marriage the bride was complimented with a shower by members of the Reformed Baptist church, when she received many gifts.

The young couple left immediately for Washburn on a wedding trip, where they were honored by another reception given by Mrs. McIsaac, mother of the bridegroom at her home Thursday evening. The reception was informal and attended by 35 guests. The home was attractively decorated with bouquets of gladioli.

The guest book was in charge of Mrs. B. A. Tompkins and during a social evening refreshments were served by Mrs. Vera Harrison and Mrs. Murray Allen, assisted by Phyllis Churchill, Vella Harrison Alice, Ruth and Verla Bull.

Mr. and Mrs. McIsaac left Saturday for Sydney, N. S., where Mr. McIsaac is stationed with the Canadian militia, and where they will make their home.
