WASHBURN, April 23 [1943] -- Miss Phylis Dathaleen Churchill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmont Churchill, became the bride of Murray Wendall Allen, Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Allen, in a charming home wedding Thursday at 7 p. m. at the home of the bride on Main street. The double ring ceremony was read by the Rev. Nelson E. Felch, pastor of the Baptist church, in the presence of immediate relatives.

The bride was beautiful in a white satin floor length princess style with sweetheart neckline and insert of lace. She wore a veil which had been worn by her mother, finger-tip style, caught with a coronet of rosebuds and velvet ribbon, and carried a bouquet of white carnations, white sweet peas, white snapdragons with white streamers. Her matron of honor, Mrs. Gerald Flewelling of Newport Center, Vt, sister of the bridegroom, also wore a floor length gown of aqua blue taffeta, same style as the bride's, and she wore a coronet of yellow flowers and aqua ribbons, carrying a colonial bouquet of jonquils and white carnations caught with yellow streamers. The bridegroom was attended by the Rev. Gerald Flewelling of Newport, Vt.

The bridal chorus from Lohengrin was played by Miss Wilma Churchill, sister of the bride. Previous to the ceremony, "O Promise Me" was sung by the Rev. Gerald Flewelling, accompanied by Mrs. Churchill, mother of the bride.

The bridal party stood under an arch of evergreen decorated with white wedding bells and white and aqua blue crepe paper streamers and flowers. The mother of the bride wore a navy blue suit with accessories to match, and a corsage of American Beauty roses and white sweet peas. The mother of the bridegroom wore a gown of soldier blue crepe and complimented her gown with a corsage of Talisman roses and sweet peas.

Following the ceremony a reception was held, which was attended by approximately 200 friends and relatives. The bride and bridegroom were assisted in receiving by Mr. and Mrs. Wilmont Churchill and Mr. and Mrs. Murray Allen, Sr. The guest book was in charge of Dorothy Churchill, cousin of the bride. Assisting in serving refreshments were Lois Porter and Lyda Giggie. A beautiful bride's cake was cut and served by the bride.
