Washburn Girl Becomes Bride


Bernice F. Kimball Bride of Merle R. Nichols, Presque Isle


PRESQUE ISLE, April 7 [1943] - Miss Bernice F. Kimball, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Kimball of Washburn, became the bride of Merle R. Nichols, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark D. Nichols of this city, in a quiet ceremony at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, at the Baptist parsonage. The Rev. H. Leslie Christie read the double ring ceremony in the presence of the immediate relatives.

They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Currie, sister and brother-in-law of the bride. The bride was attractive in a gown of aqua with matching accessories, and her attendant wore a peach colored gown.

Mrs. Nichols attended the Washburn schools. Mr. Nichols attended the Presque Isle schools and is now employed as fireman on the Bangor and Aroostook railroad. After a wedding trip they will make their home in Presque Isle. Attending the ceremony were the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Kimball, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jordan, Mrs. Perley Howard all of Washburn, her sisters, Miss Florence and Miss Dorothy Kimball, the bridegroom's mother, Mrs Mark Nichols and his aunt, Mrs. Lawrence Nichols.
