The church was beautifully decorated with blue delphiniums and white daisies. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attractive in a gown of white marquisette cut on princess lines, with a fingertip veil of bridal illusion caught with orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of white rosebuds and gardenias.
She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Harry Richardson, who wore a gown of aqua marquisette, fashioned like that of the bride, and a tiara of flowers over a short veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of pastel colors.
Rodney Wyman of Newport was best man, and the ushers were Lawrence Strurtevant, brother of the bridegroom, and Ralph M. Cary cousin of the bride.
The bride's mother wore a rose beige ensemble with matching accessories, and a corsage of pink roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy blue sheer ensemble with matching accessories, and a corsage of pink roses. The bride's grandmother; Mrs. Maude Storey, wore a black and white ensemble and her corsage was of red roses.
Miss Barbara Steele was in charge of church decorations.
The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold bracelet, and to the ushers, gold key chains.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents. 23 Blake street, which was decorated with white daisies and blue delphinium. Mrs. B. C. Bickford, Rodney Wyman, Mrs. Harry Richardson, and the bride's parents assisted in receiving.
Mrs. Ralph M. Cary received the guests at the door. Miss Louise Rand was in charge or the guest book, and Mrs. Rodney Wyman of the gift table. The Misses Barbara Steele, Maude Storey, Glenna Jones of Millinocket, Avis Zipple, and Marion Marino, and Mrs. Ralph Sweetser assisted in serving.
Mr. and Mrs. Sturtevant left for several days' wedding trip through New Hampshire. The bride chose for traveling a blue print ensemble with navy accessories.
Mrs. Sturtevant was graduated from Presque Isle high school, and received an A. B. degree from Bates college in 1939. She has been a member of the faculty of Williams high school, Oakland.
Mr. Sturtevant was graduated from Belgrade high school and attended Hebron academy. He is employed by the Maine Central railroad at Waterville.
They will be at home In North Belgrade after July 12.
Guests from out of town at the wedding included Mrs. Eva Getchell of Waterville, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Wyman of Newport, Miss Glenna Jones of Millinocket, Lawrence Sturtevant of Fort Williams, and Mrs. B. C. Bickford of North Belgrade.
