Mars Hill Girl Becomes Bride

MARS HILL, Oct. 31 [1943] -- Miss Norma A. Wilson, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. J. Henry Wilson of Mar: Hill and John A. Wright, son of Charles Wright, of St. George. N. B., were married Thursday, Oct. al at 7:30 p. m., in the Full Gospel Assembly. The double ring service was read by the Rev. F. Harold Bickford, pastor assisted by the Rev. Christine Gibson, principal of Zion Bible institute, East Providence, R. I. Pink and white carnations on evergreen decorated the alter.

The wedding march was played by Mrs. Edward Washington, and two selections,'"Loves Greeting," and "I Promise You," were sung by Mrs. Aubrey Wilson and Murray Shaw. Miss Marguerite Watson of Caribou was maid of honor and Mrs. William K. Wilson, matron or honor. Miss Ethel McCray of Mars Hill was bridesmaid.

The Rev. William K. Wilson, a returned missionary from South Africa, was best man. Ushers were Aubrey Wilson, brother of the bride, and Lafayette Wilson, a cousin. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a white satin princess style gown with sweetheart neckline. Her fingertip veil was caught to a coronet of seed pearls. She carried a white Bible trimmed with gardenias and satin streamers knotted with sweet peas. Miss Watson was attractive in a pink taffeta gown with matching shoulder length veil. She carried a bouquet of lavender pompoms.

Mrs. William Wilson was gowned in blue taffeta with matching veil and carried pink carnations. Miss McCray wore yellow taffeta with matching veil and carried gold chrysanthemums. Mrs. Wilson, the bride's mother was gowned in soldier blue crepe with a corsage of pink carnations. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church dining hall, which was decorated in pink and white. The gift table was in charge of Mrs. William McCray and Mrs. John Wilson. Assisting in serving were Mrs. P. H. Bickford, Mrs, John Wilson, Mrs. Vinal Barnes, Mrs. Hannah Young and several school friends of the bride. Out of town guests were from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Texas, Maine and Canada.

Mr. and Mrs. Wright left for a wedding trip to Quebec, Canada. The bride's traveling ensemble was a soldier blue suit with black accessories. Mrs. Wright graduated from Aroostook Central institute, Mars Hill and Zion Bible institute, East Providence, R. I. Mr. Wright attended St. George High school and is also a graduate of Zion Bible institute. The couple will be engaged in ministerial work in Canada.
