ENGAGED -- Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Carver of Washburn are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Alice Elizabeth of Washburn and Portland to Sgt. Joseph L. Buckler of Louisville, Ky. Miss Carver is a graduate of Washburn High school and the Academy Moderne in Boston. Sgt. Buckler is a graduate of St. Augustine High school in Lebany, Ky., and the University of Notre Dame, and is stationed in the department of finances with the harbor defense of Portland. Miss Carver is employed at Porteous, Mitchell and Braun, Portland. The wedding will take place this spring.
