Cpl. George Conley Wounded In Action

WASHBURN, Aug. 11 [1944] - Word has been received that Cpl. George Conley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Conley of Washburn, has been wounded in action in France on July 19.

He has been in service since February 18, 1941, and left for overseas duty in October, 1942. He was in the African and Sicilian campaigns. Cpl. Conley received his training at Fort Bragg, N. C.


WOUNDED - Cpl. George B. Conley of Washburn was wounded in action in France July 19th according to word received by his wife, Mrs. Verla Conley.

Cpl. Conley was one of the first to be inducted from Washburn in 1941. He served at Fort Bragg until going overseas in December 1942. He saw service in Africa, Sicily, England and France.
