VINCENT EARL ALLEN

Vincent Earl Allen, 26, passed away at the Presque Isle General Hospital Saturday, Nov. 18 [1944] following a brief illness.

He was born in Burtts Corner, N. B., the son of Murray and Olive Allen.

He attended Washburn schools graduating from the local High School in 1935.

He married Ona Ballard, daughter of Mrs. Fern Ballard, who survives him. He also leaves a young daughter, Linda Lea; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Allen; a brother, Murray Allen, Jr., all of Washburn; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Flewelling of Newport, Vt.

Funeral services were held at the Pentecostal Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Robert Pinkham of Caribou officiated, assisted by Rev. Arthur Post and Rev. N. E. Felch of Washburn. Mrs. Post sang "I'd Rather Have Jesus" and a young people's choir sang "Softly and Tenderly." The bearer were Quentin Jardine, Wilmont Duncan, Henry McDonald and Merle Deeves.

Out of town guests attending were Miss Eileen Allen, Miss Leona Allen, Ervin Allen, Mrs. George Spears, Mrs. William Spears, Sgt. Eldred Cook, all of Augusta; Rev. and Mrs. Gerald Flewelling of Newport Center, Vt.; Beecher Allen, Lord's Cove, N. B.; Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Bailey, Caribou.
