
BROTHERS MEET--Sgt. Fred Harris, Jr., and Pfc. Merle Harris, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harris, formerly of Washburn, met recently somewhere in the Hawaiian Islands.
Pfc. Merle Harris of the Marine Corps was formerly a welder at the Todd-Bath ship-yard in Portland. He received his training at Parris Island. S. C., and Camp Lejuene, N. C.
Sgt. Fred Harris: enlisted in the Army in January, 1942, and received his training at Camp Croft, S. C., and was transferred to Camp Gordon Johnson, Fla., as an instructor in the amphibious infantry.
They were shipped to the Hawaiian Islands and for some time tried to locate each other, meeting just recently. Mrs. Harris received the following letter from Merle:
Dear Ma:
I wanted to tell you that I located Ted here and was he happy to see me. I was certainly glad to see him. I had a feeling, I was going to see him just before I reached his camp. We were overwhelmed with joy when we met. Ted seems to miss hfs family, but for me, I'm always happy. Don't worry.
