
GIVEN PARTY--Milton J. Stairs of Washburn was honored at a surprise birthday party by relatives on the occasion of his 80th birthday Thursday.
The hillside farm home of Milton J. Stairs was the scene of an unusually pleasant reunion Thursday, when more than 50 relatives met to honor Mr. Stairs on the occasion of his 80th birthday. Returning from the Farm Bureau Field Day at Presque Isle, Mr. Stairs was surprised to find the group assembled.
Tables were set up on the lawn and were decorated with garden flowers. A large three-tiered birthday cake was also prominent in the decorative motif.
Mr. Stairs received many gifts, including money and war savings stamps, as well as congratulatory cards, and a telephone call from his daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Allen C. Russell of Freehold, N.J.
Plans for the affair were in charge of another son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph K. Bull, who live on the homestead with Mr. Stairs.
