KILLED IN ACTION--Sgt. Gerald E. Dickinson was killed in action April 6th [1945] while serving with the First Army according to word received by his mother, Mrs. Bernice Tarbox of Perham.

Sgt. Dickinson was graduated from Washburn high school with honors in the class of 1942. He entered the service in February, 1943, and attended City college of New York in the Army Specialized Training Program and upon its discontinuation in March, 1944, he went to Shreveport, La., to train with an infantry unit. Later he was stationed at Camp Breckinridge, Ky., until leaving for overseas duty in October, 1944. While overseas he served in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. During his military career he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the Combat Infantry badge for his performance of duty in ground combat against the enemy.

Besides his mother he is survived by two half sisters, Dorothy and Marjorie Tarbox, and by two half brothers, Keith and Paul Tarbox, all of Perham.
