TURNER-PORTER
Miss Drusilla J. Porter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Porter, and Glen Turner, son of Scott
Turner, both of Washburn, were married at 7 o'clock, Tuesday evening, June 26, at the bride's
home. The single ring ceremony was performed by Rev. N. E. Felch, of the Baptist Church. Only
the immediate relatives were guests. The wedding march was played by Mrs. Wilma Perkins, aunt
of the bride. The bride was attractive in white satin with tier skirt of taffeta, with net, Holland
Maid. She wore a fingertip veil and carried a bouquet of white carnations. Miss Mary Kidney, as
maid of honor, wore light blue allover lace and a corsage of pink rosebuds. The bridegroom was
attended by Percy Manzer.
A wedding reception followed the ceremony and was attended by a large number of invited
relatives and friends.
Miss Lois Porter, aunt of the bride was in charge of the guest book. Many beautiful and useful
gifts were received by the young couple. Refreshments, including a beautiful bride's cake, ice
cream, assorted cake and wafers, were served.
Following a wedding trip to Old Orchard, Mr. and Mrs. Turner will reside at their home on the
Caribou Road, where he is engaged in farming.
The bride is a graduate of Washburn High School, class of 1944.
