Caribou Girl Weds Washburn Boy

CARIBOU, Dec. 4 [1945] -- Miss Christina Frances Churchill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Churchill and Frank Clair Lavway, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lavway of Washburn, were quietly married at the Methodist parsonage in Caribou November 16. Rev. Philip Lush performed the double ring ceremony. The bride wore a street length dress of blue velvet and a corsage of talisman roses.

Miss Mavis Chase, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid. She wore gold crepe and yellow roses.

The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Laurence.

Mr. Lavway was graduated from the Washburn high school and is engaged in farming with his father at Crouseville.

S-Sgt. Allen Churchill who served 14 months overseas arrived home for his sister's wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Lavway will make their home in Washburn after a short wedding trip.

A wedding reception was given by the bride's parents to approximately 150 guests. They were introduced by Mrs. Roger Foster of Limestone and Miss Alice Lavway of Washburn. The guest book was in charge of Miss Katrina Anderson. The gift table was attended by Miss Leatha Churchill, sister of the bride. Miss Arlene Wardwell and Mrs. Roy Brown.

Refreshments were served by Mrs. Harry Churchill, assisted by Mrs. Guy Turner, Mrs. James Plissey. Mrs. Fritz of Jacobson, Mrs. Albin Edstrand, Mrs. William Hansen, Mrs. Roy Brown, Mrs. Phoebe Langley and Mrs. Ida Chase. The wedding cake was made by Mrs. Chester Akerson.

Cigars were passed by Jasper Durepo. Many useful gifts were received.

Mrs. Lavway was graduated from Caribou high school and during the past year has been employed at Pattee's store.
