ENGAGED - Mr. and Mrs. Harry McBride of Washburn announce the engagement of their daughter, Harriet E. McBride, to Pvt. Robert J. Carrol, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Carrol of 22 Howard street, Presque Isle. Miss McBride attended Mapleton High school and for the past year has been employed at the post office in Washburn. Pvt. Carrol attended Presque Isle High school, and for the past two years has been employed in Carrol's grocery store. He entered the Army last July and is now stationed at Camp Blanding, Fla. No date has been set for the wedding.
