HITCH-HIKING TO PARIS -- Staff Sergeant Harold V. Wilder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll D. Wilder, Washburn, waits for a C-47 to fly him to Paris for a three-day pass. Sergeant Wilder is in a photographic reconnaissance squadron based at Eschwege, Germany, with the 67th Tactical Reconnaissance Group. He is s P-38 Lightning crew chief and has been awarded the Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon and wears the ETO Ribbon with four battle participation stars. Before coming into the Army in December, 1942, Sgt. Wilder was a farmer. He is a graduate of Washburn high school, class of 1941.
