
The alter of the church was decorated with baskets of white snapdragons and gladioli which formed an attractive setting for the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. Victor P. Musk using the double ring service. Mrs. T. B. Perry played incidental music, the traditional wedding march and recessional. Miss Gloria Bailey of Bangor was maid of honor and Wilford Johnston of Fort Fairfield was the best man. The ushers were Judson Libby of Presque Isle, William and John Rask of Easton, brothers of the bridegroom.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, was very lovely in a gown of white satin and net, her finger tip veil being held in place by orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses and sweet peas. Her only ornament being a strand of pearls, a gift from the bridegroom. Miss Bailey was very attractive in a gown of yellow silk jersey and net and carried a bouquet of sweet peas and yellow roses. Mr. Johnston and the bridegroom both wearing their U. S. Navy uniforms. The bridesmaids, Miss Jane Boble of Milo and Miss Ruth McBride of Easton were attractively gowned in blue silk with net and carried colonial bouquets of sweet peas and roses.
Mrs. Thompson, mother of the bride, was dressed in Navy sheer and wore a corsage of red roses. Mrs. Trask, mother of the bride-groom, wore black crepe with aqua trim, and her-corsage was also of red roses.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church dining room, where the bridal party received the guests. Mrs. Merle Lamoreau was in charge of the guest book. Mrs. Frank Hemphill of Presque Isle, and Miss Helen Knox of Washburn, presided over the gift tables. The bride received many beautiful gifts, including a sum of money.
Miss Laurine Thompson of Washburn served a beautifully decorated brides cake, after the traditional first slice was cut by the bride. Refreshments of punch and cookies were served by Miss Kathleen Mahany and Mrs. Robert Dinsmore of Easton, Miss Marguerite Baker of Waterville, Miss Marie Brewer of Washburn and Miss Katharine Johnston of Fort Fairfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Trask left after the reception for a short trip. For traveling, the bride wore coffee with cream suit with dark brown accessories and a brown top coat. Her corsage being of yellow roses.
Mrs. Trask was graduated from Easton high school and attended Farmington State Teachers college and is at present teaching in Easton. Mr. Trask was also a graduate from Easton high school and attended NYA school, before enlisting in the service where he served three years, one and a half of which was spent in the Pacific theater as RM 2c. He served in the Rescue Squadron and Air Evacuation Sqdn. and later being transferred to the N.A.T.S. He wears the Good Conduct ribbon, Asiatic Pacific theater medal with two battle stars, Navy commendation, and received a Presidential citation. He recently received his honorable discharge.
They will be in Easton and Washburn this summer and in September will reside in Orono, where Mr. Trask will attend the University of Maine.
Mrs. George Huson was in charge of the general arrangements for the reception assisted Mrs. Fenton Flewelling. Mrs. Lewis Benn and Mrs. Fred Dinsmore.
