MARRIED RECENTLY--Miss Frieda R. Maynard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Maynard of Washburn, was united in marriage to Albert R. Monson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Monson of Woodland, at the parsonage of the Baptist church of Presque Isle, the Rev. Philip C. Hughey officiating, at a double ring ceremony.

WASHBURN, June 6 [1946] -- Miss Frieda R. Maynard daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Maynard of Washburn, and Albert R. Monson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Monson, of Woodland, were united in marriage, May 10 at the residence of Rev. Philip C. Hughey of Presque Isle, who officiated the double ring ceremony. The bride was attractively attired in a gray wool pencil stripe suit with a corsage of red roses. Her attendant, Mrs. Marvin Dickinson of Washburn wore a brown suit with corsage of jonquils. The bridegroom and best man, Marvin Dickinson of Washburn wore gray suits with the boutonnieres.

A recaption was held at the home of the bridegroom's parents in the evening, The couple received many attractive and useful gifts. Miss Patricia Monson, sister of the bridegroom, had charge of the guest book. Mrs. Clarence Brown received the guests, Mrs. Olaf Monson, aunt of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Gladys Jacobson, presided over the gift table.

A beautifully decorated bride's cake, made by Mrs. Gustaf Lundgren of New Sweden, was served by Misses Patricia Monson, Arlene Brown and Marie Olmstead. The traditional first piece was cut by the bride and bridegroom And Mrs. Chester Grim continued the cutting. Mr. and Mrs. Monson left on a short trip and are now residing with the bridegroom's parents. This fall they will move to the old Monson homestead, which is being redecorated. Mrs. Monson is a graduate of Washburn high school and lived with her parents until her marriage. Mr. Monson was graduated from Caribou high school and served with the 1913th Engineers Bn. for three years, with two and a half years in Southwest Pacific area. He is now engaged in farming.
