WED IN SIMPLE SERVICE -- Miss Wilma Tower, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank S. Tower of Washburn became the bride of Lieut. (j.g.) W. R. Field, USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E Field of Old Town in a simple ceremony at the home of the officiating clergyman, Rev. Basil Gleason in Brewer Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. George McIninch attended the young couple. The bride wore a street-length dress of powder blue with white accessories and Mrs. McIninch wore a black and white ensemble with white accessories. Both wore corsages of orchids. The bride was graduated from Washburn high school and attended the Maine School of Commerce where she was a member of Epsilon Tau Epsilon sorority. Lieut. Field was graduated from Old Town high school and the Maine Maritime academy. He will be released from active duty in the United States Naval Reserve this month after four years of service in the American, European-African-Middle East and Asiatic-Pacific theatres of war. The young couple will reside at the home of the bridegroom until the latter part of August when he will leave for Colorado to complete his course in engineering at the Colorado School of Mines.
