Ruth B. Thompson Of Washburn Married To Frederic A. Carlton

WASHBURN, Nov. 8 [1946] -- Miss Ruth B. Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Thompson, and Frederick A. Carlton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Carlton were married recently in an attractive candle-light service at the Advent Christian church in Crouseville.

Rev. Martin Rasmussen officiated, reading the double-ring ceremony and the bride was given in marriage by her father.

The attendants were Miss Dorothy Culbertson of Presque Isle, maid of honor, and Vernum E.

Woodman, best man.

The bride wore a gown of white wool with a corsage of gladioli. The maid of honor was gowned in rose wool with white corsage.

The bride's mother wore Navy blue with corsage of yellow roses and Mrs. Carlton, mother of the bridegroom wore black with a corsage of red.

The wedding reception, immediately following the ceremony, was held at the mission home. The

guest book was in charge of Mrs. Claude Hemphill of Presque Isle.

Mrs. Frank Smith and Miss Natalie Woodman presided at the gift table. Refreshments were in charge of Mrs. Milford Clark and Mrs. Leo Flewelling.

Mrs. Carlton was graduated from the Washburn high School and for the past year has been employed by the New England Telephone company at Presque Isle.

Mr. Carlton attended Washburn high and has recently been honorably discharged from the Army having served three years in the Pacific.

After a wedding trip they will be at home to their friends at Crouseville where Mr. Carlton is engaged in farming with his father.

Out-of-town relatives present were Mr. and Mrs. Hugh A. Hamilton. Miss Evelyn, Miss Joyce and Miss Rowena Hamilton and Mrs. Frederick Cunningham all of Canterbury, N.B.: Mr. and Mrs. R.. H. Cunningham of Auburn and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Woodman, Caribou.
