Baskets of evergreens with white chrysanthemums and candelabra formed an attractive setting for the ceremony.
Mrs. Fred Steven, church organist, played appropriate music including the traditional wedding marches.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was charming in a gown of white slipper satin fashioned with a basque style bodice, a sheer yoke, applique trimmed, and long sleeves terminating in points. Her bouffant skirt was fashioned en train and her finger-tip veil was attached to a coronet of seed pearls.
She carried a bouquet of white roses and poms with satin streamers caught with tiny poms.
The bride chose as her maid of honor, her sister, Clarice A. Easler, who was attractive in a blue jersey gown with shoulder-length veil of blue net caught at the crown with white poms. She carried a colonial bouquet of yellow and white poms with chiffon streamers.
The bridesmaids were Miss Phyllis Southard, sister of the bride-groom and Miss Sylvia Peterson, a classmate of the bride. Miss Southard wore a pink chiffon gown, and Miss Peterson a blue chiffon gown. Both wore matching shoulder-length veils caught with white poms and carried colonial bouquets of pink carnations with satin streamers.
Owen Southard, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and the ushers were Eugene Everett and Philip Rivard, friends of the bridegroom.
Mrs. Easler, mother of the bride, wore a brown suit with green accessories and complemented her
costume with a shoulder corsage of yellow roses.
Mrs. Southard, the bridegroom's mother, was gowned in a powder blue suit with black accessories and a shoulder corsage of yellow roses.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church vestry, which was effectively decorated with crepe paper and baskets of pine and cut flowers. The guest book was in charge of Miss Effie Nutter, a friend of the bride and Mrs. James Wickem, sister of the bridegroom, presided at the gift table. The bridal party was assisted in receiving by the mother
of the bride and bridegroom.
A beautifully decorated bride's cake was served by Mrs. Eva Sheain, aunt of the bride, after the bride and bridegroom cut the first slice. Miss Avis Hughey and Miss Virginia Huson presided at the punch bowl. Also assisting in serving were Miss Margaret Bailey and Mrs. Alonzo Flewelling.
The young couple left by motor for a wedding trip of unannounced destination. The bride chose for traveling a blue gabardine suit with black accessories and a corsage of pink roses.
The bride was graduated from Washburn High school, attended Ricker Junior college and the University of Maine. The bridegroom is a graduate of the Presque Isle High school and served three years in the U. S. Army, part of which was spent in the Pacific Area.

LOVELY BRIDE -- Miss Glenice Easler was married recently at the Congregational church in Presque Isle, Rev. Thomas J. Cornish, pastor, officiating, reading the double-ring service.
