The bride's gown was of white jersey with a net over-skirt. She wore a finger-tip veil with coronet; her arm bouquet was of yellow roses. The bridesmaid's gown was of light blue taffeta and she carried an arm bouquet of American Beauty red roses.
The bride's mother was gowned in a black and white two piece street length dress and wore a corsage of red roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy blue crepe dress with a corsage of red roses. Only the immediate relatives with the exception of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Faulkner, who are very close friends of the bride, attended the wedding.
A reception followed the wedding ceremony. The receiving line was made up of Mr. and Mrs. Linwood McCready of Presque Isle, sister and brother-in-law of the bride; Miss Elizabeth Spearin, the bridesmaid, the bride and bridegroom, and Mr. Wendell Blackstone, the best man. Incidental music was furnished by Mrs. Wilmont J. Churchill, church organist, during the reception.
Miss Beatrice Dahlgren, sister of the bride, was in charge of the guest book; Mrs. Murray Duncan and Mrs. Kenneth Drake were in charge of the gift table; Mrs. Arnold Ballard, Mrs. Frank Carver and Mrs. Everett Cunningham supervised the refreshments.
After the wedding cake was cut by the bride, Mrs. Linwood McCready completed the serving. Refreshments were served in the church dining room.
Mrs. Ballard is a graduate of Washburn high school and Maine School of Commerce, Bangor, and is now employed for Charles C. Delong, Presque Isle. Mr. Ballard is a graduate of Washburn high school, a veteran of World War II and is attending Ricker Junior college.
After a short wedding trip, Mrs. Ballard will resume her position at Presque Isle and Mr. Ballard will return to Ricker to complete his studies.

MARRIED IN WASHBURN -- The marriage of Miss Julia Dahlgren, daugher of Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Dahlgren and Mr. Vincent Ballard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ballard, took place recently in the Washburn Baptist church, the Rev. P. C. Hughey, Jr., officiating.
