Gaynel McIntyre Becomes Bride Of Darold Hocking

WASHBURN, May 25 [1947] --Gaynel A. McIntyre, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. McIntyre of Washburn, recently became the bride of Darold B. Hocking, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred C. Hocking of St. George. The Rev. Philip C. Hughey, Jr. of the Baptist church officiated at the double-ring ceremony held at the bride's home on School street.

The couple was attended by Miss Pauline Berce, schoolmate of the bride, and Arnold B. Hocking, brother of the bridegroom, student at Maine Maritime Academy, Castine.

Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at which about 100 were present. The home was attractive with cut flowers and lighted candles.

GRANDMOTHER POURED

Mrs. Louise McGouldrick, grandmother of the bride, poured at a table arranged with white cloth, candles and a centerpiece of white roses. Miss Rebecca McIntyre, cousin of the bride, cut and served the wedding cake. Miss Doris Campbell had charge of the guest book.

The couple left for Quebec, Montreal and the White Mountains. The bride wore a lime green suit and honey colored topcoat with black accessories.

Mrs. Hocking was graduated from Washburn high school, the Knox hospital school of nursing and served one year with the Army Nurse corps in Manila, P. I.

COAST GUARD VETERAN

Mr. Hocking as a graduate of St. George high school, Hebron Academy and Colby college. He served 42 months as lieutenant in the United States Coast Guard in both the European and Asiatic areas. He is now employed by John Meehan and son, Clark Island.
