
BRIDE IN CARIBOU--Mrs. Robert K. Brown, the former Mavis Chase, was married recently in Gray Memorial Methodist church, Caribou.
Miss Beatrice Wilcox of Caribou, played the traditional wedding march. Mrs. Flora Anderson, also of Caribou, sang two selections.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her stepfather, was attractive in a gown of white satin with long sleeves which pointed at the wrist. The skirt was fashioned en train. Her finger tip veil was attached to a hamberg trimmed juliet cap. She carried a white Bible with ribbon streamers.
The bride chose for her maid of honor her cousin, Miss Naida Edstrand of Caribou, who wore a floor length dress of blue with a shoulder-length veil and carried a colonial bouquet. Wendall
Blackstone of Perham was best man, and ushers were Clair Lavway of Washburn and Everett
Sperrey of Perham. Miss Joyce Turner, cousin of the bride, was flower girl, wearing peach taffeta.
The bride's mother wore an aqua silk suit with white accessories and a corsage of red roses. The bride-groom's mother wore a black silk suit with white accessories. She also had a corsage of red roses.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church parlors, which were
attractively decorated with summer flowers. Mrs. Bernice Umphrey of Washburn was in charge of the flower arrangements.
In the receiving line with the bride and bridegroom were their attendants. The bride's cake was served by Mrs. Vada Foster of Limestone and Miss Florence Lajoie of Caribou. Miss Marilyn Brown of Washburn, sister of the bride-groom, was in charge of the guest book. Serving refreshments were Mrs. F. R. Jacobson of Westmanland, Mrs. James Plissey and Mrs. Hadley Flannigan of Washburn, Mrs. Charles Patten of Caribou and Mrs. Douglas Chapman and Mrs. Merle Dickinson of Washburn. Mrs. Bernice Umphrey and Mrs. Alta Munson served punch. At the gift table were Mrs. Vada Foster and Mrs. Catherine Turner.
The couple left immediately on their wedding trip to Quebec. For traveling, the bride wore a gabadine suit of dove gray with black accessories and a corsage of white carnations.
The bride is a graduate of Caribou high school and is employed as bookkeeper at the Washburn Electric company. Brown was graduated from Washburn high school and served for twenty months in the Army, receiving his discharge in December, 1946. He is employed by the Northeastern Supply company here.
