Riley-Bragdon Nuptials Held In Perham Home

PERHAM, Aug. 27 [1947] -- Beth-Marie Bragdon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bragdon was recently married to James Dale Riley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy H. Riley of Linden, Tenn., at the home of her parents here. Rev. Read Blackstone officiated.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white gabardine suit, with powder blue blouse and hat to match; and she wore a corsage of pink sweet peas and baby's breath.

The matron of honor, Mrs. Meredith K. Bragdon, sister-in-law of the bride, wore a white dress with a red rosebud corsage.

The bride's mother wore a black sheer crepe dress and carried yellow gladioli. Best man was Meredith K. Bragdon, bother of the bride.

Decorations, in charge of Mrs. C. H Wilder of Portland, aunt of the bride, were of summer flowers. Miss Wilma Blackstone provided music for the ceremony.

At the reception following the wedding at the parents home. Mrs. Marcia Detweiler was in charge of the gift table, Miss Jackie Hall, of the guest book: and Mrs. Lloyd Crouse, Mrs. C. H. Wilder, Mrs. Thomas Brewer and Miss Mae Brewer served refreshments.

For a wedding trip the couple went to Boston, Mrs. Riley wearing a pale green suit with brown and white hat, and brown shoes.

Mrs. Riley was graduated from Presque Isle high school in 1946, Fisher college in 1947, and has been a bookkeeper in Boston, Mass.

Mr. Riley was graduated from Linden high school, Linden, Tenn., and is a petty officer in the First Naval District, with headquarters in the Fargo building in Boston.

The couple will he at home after Sept. 15 at 136 Huntington avenue, Boston. Out-of-town guests were Mrs. L. M. Crouse of Gardiner, grand-mother of the bride Mrs. C. H. Wilder of Portland: Mr. and Mrs. John Hall, Miss Jackie Hall of Houlton; Miss Mae Brewer, Mrs. Marcia Detweiler, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Crouse, Mary Crouse of Presque Isle; Mrs. W. H. Bragdon of Bangor, and Perham and Washburn friends.
