BRIDE AT CROUSEVILLE -- Mrs. Garth L. Good, above, the former Miss Margaret D. Whittaker, was married recently at the Advent Christian church in Crouseville.

Miss Margaret D. Whittaker Weds Garth Good In Crouseville Church

CROUSEVILLE, Oct. 8 [1947] -- The Advent Christian church here was the scene of a pretty wedding recently when Miss Margaret Dickinson Whittaker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy S. Dickinson of Washburn, became the bride of Garth Lowell Good, son of Rev. and Mrs. Lee C. Good of Monticello. The bridegroom's father, performed the double-ring ceremony, and the church was beautifully decorated with pink gladioli and roses.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her matron of honor was Marion Lambert Healy of Winthrop, while bridesmaids were Althea Fox of San Diego, Cal., and Charlene DeLong of Presque Isle. The bride's niece, Miss Joan Good was flower girl.

BROTHER ATTENDED BRIDEGROOM

The bridegroom's attendant was his brother, Lawrence Good. Robert Cook of Bangor, Herschel Good, the bridegroom's brother, and Joseph McKay of Houlton were ushers.

The bride was lovely in a gown of shell pink satin en train with an inserted yoke of nylon net and a pink fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and sweetpeas.

The bride's mother was attractively dressed in a light blue street-length dress and wore a corsage of red roses.

RECEPTION HELD

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Crouseville Mission hall. Tables were decorated with pink gladioli, roses and streamers of pink crepe paper.

Serving were Mrs. Alden Crouse, Miss Bette Lou Crouse, Mrs. Cecil Porter, Mrs. Jack Stoddard and Mrs. Howard Perkins.

Miss Fox was in charge of the guest book, while Mrs. Cecil Dickinson, Mrs. Vaughn Dickinson and Miss Elinor Crouse were in charge of the gift table.

LEFT ON TRIP

Mr. and Mrs. Good left on a trip to Quebec and Montreal through the White Mountains. The bride chose for traveling a forest green suit with burgundy accessories. On their return, the couple will be at home at the Northland apartments in Presque Isle.

The bride is a graduate of Washburn high school and Aurora college Aurora, Ill. For the past year she has been employed in a home decoration firm in Boston.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Ricker Classical Institute and Bowdoin college. He is a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and is employed as inspector for the state insurance department.
