
Ruth E. Mason Becomes Bride Of Jack A. Russell In New York City
The many Bangor friends of Miss Ruth Evelyn Mason, only daughter of Mrs. Edwin S. Mason of
New York City and the late Mr. Mason of Washburn and granddaughter of Mr. W. S. Mason of
34 Jefferson street and the late Fire Chief Mason, will be interested to learn of her recent marriage
to Jack Allan Russell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Russell of Washburn.
The wedding took place at Holy Trinity church in New York City with the Rev. John Veldon
officiating.
Given in marriage by her brother Paul, the bride wore a gown of white slipper satin with lace
inserts and full train and a finger-length veil with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a
prayer book with white orchids.
Miss Eleanor O'Halloran of Worcester, Mass. maid of honor and wore a gown of light blue satin
with flower headdress and carried a bouquet of yellow roses. John Mason, brother of the bride
was best man. During the ceremony Mrs. Paul Mason sang Schubert's "Ave Maria."
The bride's mother wore a colored ensemble with a corsage of talisman roses and the mother of
the bridegroom wore a white suit complemented by a corsage of red roses.
A Wedding breakfast was served at the Oliver Cromwell hotel followed by a reception at the
home of the bride's mother.
Miss Mason was graduated from the Washburn schools, attended John Bapst in Bangor, and
trained at. St. Vincent's hospital in Worcester, Mass. She has been engaged in private duty
nursing in New York City.
Mr. Russell also was graduated from Washburn high school and served three years in the U. S.
Army, two and one-half years of which were spent in the South Pacific.
Following a short wedding trip the couple will make their home at 63 Park street, Lewiston,
where Mr. Russell is engaged in business.
