BOSTON BRIDE -- Mrs. John P. McEvoy, above, the former Miss Virginia M. Umphrey of Washburn was married recently in Boston.
MAID OF HONOR
Mary McEvoy of Chestnut Hill, sister of the bridegroom was maid of honor and bridesmaid were Gale Kennedy of Pittsburgh, Pa. Margaret McGuire of Winthrop. Mass., and Jean Short, of Madrid, N. Y. They wore hunter green satin with headbands and bouquets of rust and gold chrysanthernums.
The bridegroom, son of the late Dr. and Mrs. George A. McEvoy of Newton, Mass., had his brother George A. McEvoy, Jr., as best man. Ushers were Charles K. Bryant and Jack Shakle of Newton and William Rangnow and William Richardson of Passiac, N. J.
Mrs. Umphrey, mother of the bride, wore rust colored lace with gold accessories and a gardenia corsage. Mrs. Shakle, aunt of the bridegroom, wore blue lace, silver accessories and a corsage of red roses.
RECEPTION IS HELD
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony, at Hampton Court hotel and was attended by more than 200 relatives and friends.
The guest book was in charge of Miss Beverly Stoner, head stewardess of Northeast Airlines. Miss Patricia Bernard, also a stewardess served the bride's cake.
Following the reception, the couple left on a trip to New York and Washington, D. C. The bride's
traveling ensemble was a suit of hunter green with brown accessories and a gardenia corsage.
Mrs. McEvoy is a graduate of Katherine Gibbs school and was an airline hostess. Mr. McEvoy is a junior executive in the firm of Whitman and company of Boston
