
WASHBURN BRIDE -- Mrs. Edrick M. Flewelling, above, was Miss Joyce Floreen Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin D. Smith of Washburn, before her recent marriage in Crouseville.
The church was decorated with white gladioli and fern. Mrs. Vena Churchill, organist, played traditional wedding music and Rev. Philip C. Hughey, soloist, sang, "Because" and "Thou Art My Own".
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white slipper satin gown en train with fitted bodice with long, pointed sleeves. Her fingertip veil of bridal illusion was caught to a tiara of orange blossoms. Her only ornament was a string of pearls. She carried a white Bible with a corsage of white gardenias and streamers of white ribbon and sweetpeas.
MAID OF HONOR
Miss Evelyn Smith, sihter of the bride, was maid of honor and chose a gown of blue chiffon with fitted bodice and sweetheart neckline. She wore a matching shoulder-length veil and carried a colonial bouquet of sweetpeas.
Miss Mona Smith, sister of the bride, and Miss Barbara Jackson, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids. Both were gowned in pink taffeta with matching shoulder-length veils and carried colonial bouquets of sweetpeas.
Judy Sharron was flower girl, wearing a floor-length dress of white dotted Swiss and carrying a basket of petals trimmed with rain-bow ribbon. Dennis Young was ring bearer.
David Flewelling, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Kenneth Flewelling, cousin of the bridegroom, and Everett Chamberlain, classmate of the bridegroom, were ushers.
Mrs. Smith, mother of the bride, wore a navy blue and white floral print dress with navy and white accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Mrs. Flewelling, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy crepe dress with matching accessories complemented by a corsage of pink roses.
RECEPTION FOLLOWS
A reception followed at the home of the bridegroom's parents. A three-tier wedding cake made by Mrs. Irvin Clark was decorated with a miniature bride and bridegroom and with white sweetpeas. It was served by Mrs. Wilmot Flewelling. Mrs. Kenneth Flewelling, in charge of the gift tables, was assisted by Miss Anita Dahlgren and Miss Kay Smith. Miss Pauline Smith was in charge of the guest book.
For her wedding trip, the bride chose a navy blue gabardine suit with white accessories and a corsage of white gardenias. The couple will make their home in Crouseville.
Mr. and Mrs. Flewelling are both graduates of Washburn High school. He is employed by his father in contracting and building. Out-of-town guests included Mrs. Charles E. Shorey of Worcester, Mass., Donald Flewelling of Hartford, Conn., Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Crouse and Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hussey and Marilyn and Mrs. Harold Adams, all of Presque Isle; Mr. and Mrs. Adelbert Sutherland, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Hersey, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hersey, Philip Hersey and Mrs, Sheldon Hallett and Beryl and Gilbert, all of Caribou.
