Crouseville Girl Becomes Bride In Home Event

CROUSEVILLE. July 5 [1049] -- Miss A. Joanne Crouse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abram Crouse of Crouseville, became the bride of Sgt. John E. Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Laurel W. Thompson of Washburn, here recently at the home of the bride's parents. Rev. Martin Rassmusen read the double-ring ceremany.

Traditional wedding music was played by the church organist, Miss Rubie Richardson. Mrs. Martin Rasmusen sang "I Love Thee" and "It Was God's Will That Made Thee Mine," and Rev. Philip Hughey, Jr., of Washburn sang "Because" and "Thou Art My Own."

Escorted by her father, the bride was lovely in a gown of white marquisette and lace fashioned en train. She wore a mantilla, of chantilly lace and carried a cascade bouquet of white gladioli centered with a white orchid.

MAID OF HONOR

Miss Loretta Thompsan, maid of honor, was attrective in a gown of aqua taifeta and wore a band of yellow flowers in her hair. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses.

Best man was Laurel Thompson, father of the bridegroom.

Miss Helen Crouse, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a floor-length gown of yellow dimity and white lace. Jere and Jon Armstrong of Machias acted as ring bearers and train bearer, respectively.

Mrs. Crouse, mother of the bride wore a gown of rose crepe with beige and blue acceasories. Mrs. Thompson, mother of the bridegroom, wore an aque dress with pink accessories. Both complementet their gowns with matching corsages.

After the ceremony, refreshment were served buffet style to immediate relatives and friends who attended the ceremony.

Immediately following, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson left on a brief wedding trip before leaving for theirhome in Waco, Texas.

The parents of the bride entertained earlier, the immediate families and,bridal party at York Tea room.
