Easton Girl Is Bride At Washburn

WASHBURN, March 29 [1950] --An attractive wedding took place recently at the home of the bridegroom's sister and husband. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ladner when Earlyne Faye Deeves, daughter Mr. and Mrs. Merle Deeves of Washburn and Croydon Ames son of Mr, and Mrs. Medford Ames of Easton were united in marriage. Rev. Wilbur Springer performed the double ring service.

Attending the couple were Miss Evangeline Kinney and Richard Hayden of Easton.

The bride was attired in a light gray suit with navy accessories and wore a corsage of dark pink carnations.

Miss Kinney wore a wine suit and black accessories and her corsage was of white carnations.

Mrs. Merle Deeves mother of the bride, was attired in a light blue pincheck suit and navy accessories. Mrs. Medford Ames, the bridegroom's mother, wore a navy dress with pink trim and matching accessories. Both complimented their ensembles with a corsage of red roses.

A wedding party was held immediately following the ceremony and refreshments were served by

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ladner. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Merle Deeves. Mr. and Mrs. George Malm of Woodland, Mr. and Mrs. Vere Ames and children, Mr. and. Mrs. Adonis Ames and children, Mr. and Mrs. Medford Ames, Miss Constance Ames, Miss Lillian Dean, Rev. and Mrs. Wilbur Springer and Evangeline, Miss Evangeline Kinney and Richard Hayden, all of Easton.

A wedding reception was held at the Washburn town hall in honor of the bridal couple. Approximately 250 guests were present. In charge of the gifts were Mrs. George Malm, Miss Constance Ames, Mrs. Carroll Patten. Miss Marie Churchill was in charge of the guest book. After the first traditional slice was cut by the couple, the wedding cake was served by Mrs. Claudia Stoddard. Miss Evangeline Springer presided at the punch bowl. Serving were Mrs. Gerald Boulier, Mrs. Whitfield Doody, Mrs. Fred Humphrey and Mrs. Merle Deeves.

After the reception, Mr. and Mrs. Ames left for a trip to southern Maine.

They will reside for the present with his parents in Easton.

Mrs. George Malm of Woodland also feted her sister at a recent pre-nuptial miscellaneous shower. Refreshments were served by the hostess. At the shower besides the guest of honor were Mrs. Merle Deeves, Mrs. Athil Clayton, Mrs. Maurice Parker, Mrs. Fred Martin, Mrs. Claudia Stoddard, Mrs. George Stetson, Miss Juanita Maskell, Miss Marie Churchill, Miss Marjorie Rockwell, Miss Avis Myshrall, all of Washburn. From Woodland were Mrs. Carroll Patten, Miss Helen Griffeths, Mrs. Lillian Longley.
