Washburn Veteran Married At Seattle

SEATTLE, Wash., March 23 [1950] -- Miss Erma Pauline Carlin of Seattle, became the bride recently of Basil H. Pelletier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alcide Pelletier, of Washburn, Me., at a candle light ceremony at the Ballard Baptist church. The Rev. Donald Peterson performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin gown with sweetheart neckline, long pointed sleeves with finger tip veil, and carried a white Bible with a white orchid.

Miss Delores Carlin, sister of the bride, was maid or honor and wore a yellow gown and carried yellow roses.

The bridesmaids were Gerry Anderson and Ella Dee Hutchinson, who wore light blue gowns and carried pink and white carnations, and the candle lighters were Norma Wedman and Willie Dowell.

The best man was Kenneth Anderson.

A reception was held following the ceremony, and out of town relatives who attended the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Brien; grandparents of the bride, from Idaho, also two aunts and uncles from Idaho.

The bridegroom's parents were unable to attend because of the distance. Mrs. Pelletier is a graduate of Seattle high school and is now employed at an insurance company.

Mr. Pelletier is a graduate of Washburn high school, served four years in the navy and is attending the University of Washington.
