Dorothy Pendexter Weds In Perham

PERHAM, April 21 [1950] -- Miss Dorothy Louise Pendexter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Pendexter of West Chapman, became the bride of Coy Doody, son of Mr. and Mrs. Whitfield Doody of Washburn recently. The Rev. Read Blackstone performed the single-ring ceremony at his home in Perham.

The bride was attractively attired in a light blue taffeta dress with black accessories. Her corsage was of gladioli.

A reception was held at the Baptist church in Mapleton. Assisting the bridal couple in receiving were Elwood Doody, and Miss Patricia Wilcox.

The guest book was In the charge of Miss Dora Tingley and the gift table was presided over by Annie Doody, Lizzie Pendexter and Norma Beaulieu. Assisting in serving were the bride's schoolmates, Anna McLaughlin, Shirley Scott, Patricia Doody, Judy Wilcox, Eula Pendexter. Edwina Dubay and Janet and Marjorie Buck. A wedding cake was made by the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Stella Browning and cut and served by Norma Beauliea.

The bride attended Mapleton High school. The bridegroom attended Washburn High school. He served in the U. S. Army two years, 18 months of which were overseas.
