Christine Valley Wedded In Church To Carroll Hardy

An attractive wedding ceremony took place Thursday evening at the Pentecostal church, Bangor, when Miss Christine Elaine Valley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin S. Valley, Milford, became the bride of Carroll E. Hardy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. Hardy, Bangor. The Rev. Clifford Crabtree read the double ring ceremony and the church was decorated with peonies in pastel shades.

Miss Elinor Craig sang, "O Promise Me," "I Love You Truly" and, "Together Life's Pathway We Tread," accompanied by Mis Hazel Crabtree, who played incidental music and the wedding march.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a gown of white slipper satin, fashioned en train, with a yoke of French lace and inserts of lace down the full length of the sleeves tiny button trimmed the front of the bodice and sleeves. A finger tip veil of bridal illusion was draped from a Juliet cap trimmed with seed pearls and her bridal bouquet was white roses. Completing her ensemble, was a double strand of pearls.

Miss Louise Gregg, maid of honor, was attired in a yellow gown and carried a colonial bouquet of mixed flowers. Miss Jeanette Gregg, wearing a gown of lavender marquisette, and Miss Evelyn Palmer, in aqua, both fashioned in colonial style, served as maids of honor. Each attendant wore a band of flowers in her hair and carried a colonial bouquet of mixed flowers.

Richard Hardy was best man for his brother and ushers were Duane Valley, brother of the bride, and David Crabtree.

Miss Belva Valley, sister of the bride, who served as flower girl, was attired in yellow organdy with a band of flowers in her hair.

Mrs. Valley, mother of the bride, accented her green crepe dress with beige accessories and a corsage of yellow roses while Mrs. Hardy, the bridegroom's mother, chose white accessories for her rose crepe suit and corsage of dark red roses.

RECEPTION

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bridegroom's parents where decorations included bouquets of mixed flowers. Mrs. Lewis Matterson was in charge of the guest

book and the gift tables were presided over by Mrs. George Lozier and Miss Anita Sargent. Assisting in serving were Miss Barbara Foster, Miss Carolyn McGoon, Miss Marion French and Miss Barbara Watson.

The couple left on a wedding trip to an unknown destination and on their return will be at home at 53 Court street, Bangor, after July 7. The bride's traveling ensemble was pink with white accessories and her corsage a white orchid.

The bride attended schools of East Corinth and Old Town and was graduated from Old Town

high school in 1949. She has been employed by the Northern Forest Products.

Mr. Hardy, who is employed by Hardy's used cars company, attended Bangor high school and a local business college.
