MRS. JOHN A. HALL

Marilyn E. Russell Weds John A. Hall At Washburn Rites

WASHBURN, Aug. 28 [1950] --The Baptist church of Washburn was the scene of a beautiful candlelight wedding, recently, when Marilyn Elice Russell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry M. Russell, of Wash burn, became the bride of John Alan Hall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howe W. Hall, of Orono. The Rev. Don E. Harvey, of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of Jonesport, performed the impressive double ring ceremony. The alter was arranged with tall baskets of white and yellow gladioli and lighted by two large candelabra.

Organ music was played by Mrs. Wilmot Churchill, and Mrs. Ken Miss, of Ellsworth, sang "Because" and "The Lord's Prayer."

The candles were lighted by Miss Helen Russell, sister of the bride, and Miss Joyce Wilson, of Presque Isle. Their wide hoop-skirted gowns were of white frosted organdy over turquoise taffeta, accented at the waist by wide turquoise sashes.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of imported white embroidered organdy over taffeta. Small, self-covered buttons fastened the bodice from the small Peter Pan collar to the waist. The hoop skirt fell into a wide full train. Her fingertip veil of nylon illusion flared from a headdress of embroidered organdy. She carried a white Bible topped with glamellias. Mrs. Cecil Ettinger attended her sister as matron of honor. She was attired in yellow frosted organdy similar to those of the candle-lighters and carried a colonial bouquet of sweetpeas.

Cecil Ray Ettinger, III, nephew of the bride, acted as ring bearer.

Mr. Hall was attended by William Mann of Pittsburgh, Pa.. and ushers were Maurice Russell, brother of the bride, Peter Paterson, of Saco and Milton True, Jr., of Orono.

The bride's mother wore rose linen with white accessories. Her corsage was of rose carnations. The bridegroom's mother was attired in navy tissue faille dress with matching picture hat. She wore a corsage of red roses.
