Washburn Couple Wed At Parsonage

WASHBURN, Sept. 28 [1950] -- Miss Janet Rand, daunhter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Rand of Parsons road, became the bride of Thomas Barker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Barker, in a ceremony at the Baptist parsonage at which the Rev. Philip C. Hughey, Jr., officiated.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Flanagin attended the couple.

Mrs. Rand was attired in a brown suit with white accessories and a corsage of white gladioli. Mrs. Flanigan wore a two-toned brown suit with matching accessories and her corsage was of yellow gladioli.

A reception was held immediately after the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents with an attendance of about 200 people. In charge of the guest book was Mrs. Opal Fithian. After the traditional first slice was cut by the brial couple, the wedding cake made by Mrs. Jean Barker of Preaque Isle, was served by Mrs. Arden Bull and Mrs. Weldon Rand.

Mrs. Barker is a graduate of Presque Isle high school and has been employed by Taterstate Products, Inc. Mr. Barker attended Washburn high school and at present is employed at Taterstate Products. Inc.

The couple will reside in Washburn.
