Miss Wilma Blackstone played wedding selections and accompanied the bridegroom, who sang "I Love You Truly", and Bernard Blackstone, who sang "Together". During the benediction Rev. Philip Hughey and Otis Russell, Jr., played "Savior Like A Shepard Lead Me" softly on their trumpets from a back room accompanied by the organist.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white frosted organdy gown, with short mitts, and a fingertip veil with a chained pearl crown. Her only ornament was a double strand of pearls and she carried a, white Bible with streamers and two white gardenias.
Miss Glennis Silver, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a blue gown fashioned with a low ruffled neckline and fitted bodice, short sleeves and hoop skirt. She wore a flowered headband and carried a butterfly bouquet of pink roses.
Miss Gloria Barton, of Caribou and Miss Mary Blackstone of Perham, were bridesmaids and wore gowns of the same design, the former's dress was yellow and the latter's orchid, and each had matching flowered headbands and carried colonial bouquets.
Donna Dickinson was flower girl and wore a white frosted organdy gown with a sea green taffeta slip. David Tompkins was ring bearer.
George Dinsmore, of Easton, was best man and ushers were Roy and Sherwood Martin, with Archie Silver, brother of the bride, and Bernard Blackstone, cousin of the bride assistant ushers.
Mrs. Silver, mother of the bride wore an aqua, dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses.
RECEPTION
A reception was held in the mission building and Mrs. Theodore Carr served the wedding cake with Mrs. Archie Silver assisting. Others serving were Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Crouse. Mrs. Benny Tompkins, Jr., and the Misses Wilma Tompkins, Joyce Nutting and Carolyn Bull. Mrs. Kenneth Fox, Mrs. Robert Helstrom and Miss Betty Barton were in charge of the gift table. Miss Janet Bull was in charge of the guest book.
The bride is a graduate of Washburn high school and attended Bob Jones university two years, and for the past year has been employed at Taterstate Products, Inc. The bridegroom attended schools in St. Paul, graduated from Bob Jones academy, Greenville. S. C., and is attending Bob Jones university studying for the ministry.
The bridal couple left for a trip and will return home for a few days then go to Bob Jones university to make their home for the next two years. For traveling, the bride wore a yellow suit with white and black accessories.
Out of town guests were Mr. Allen Rooks and children Ellen, Marion and Allen, Jr., and Miss Clara C. Rooks, all of Bangor.
