BRIDE-TO-BE -- Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Higgins of Mapleton are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Esther, above, to Gilbert John Ward, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert James Ward of Hollis, Long Island, N. Y. Miss Higgins is a graduate of Mapleton high school and is attending Gordon College of Theology and Missions in Boston, Mass. Mr. Ward is a graduate of Grover Cleveland high school in Ridgewood, N. Y. He spent two and a half years in the Navy and is also attending Gordon college. The wedding will take place Dec. 20.
