Mrs. Clarence Silver played incidental music and the wedding march. Two solos, "Because" and "Always," were sung by the Rev. Reuben Martin.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white slipper satin with nylon lace bodice and her fingertip veil was caught to a fitted cap. She wore matching nylon lace mitts and carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and babies breath.
Her only attendant was Miss Janet Walker, maid of honor. She wore a gown of blue nylon net with a headpiece of shredded carnations. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink carnations.
The bridegroom chose as his best man his brother Philip Forbes of Caribou. Ushers were Llewellyn Forbes of Caribou and Alden Bugbee of Presque Isle.
Mrs. Willard Bugbee, mother of the bride, wore an aqua silk dress with white accessories and her corsage was of pink and white carnations.
Mrs. Forbes, mother of the bridegroom, wore gray and white silk with white accessories and complemented her costume with a corsage of yellow roses.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church dining room, which was
decorated with pink and white peonies. Miss Margaret Anne Forbes, cousin of the bride, of Portland, was in charge of the guest book. Presiding at the gift table were Mrs. Joyce Corey, Miss Marion Bugbee, Mrs. Mary Belanson and Miss Norma Forbes. Miss Gloria Forbes was at the punch bowl and the Misses Phyllis and Janet Forbes; sisters of the bridegroom, assisted in serving refreshments.
WEDDING TRIP
The bride wore for traveling an aqua gabardine suit with pink accessories. The couple went to Big
lake on their wedding trip and they are now residing in their new home.
Mrs. Forbes is a graduate of Washburn high school and the Aroostook School of Commerce and
is employed as secretary at the Presque Isle Air Base. Mr. Forbes is a graduate of Caribou high school and is a member of the Caribou National Guard. He is shipping foreman at Birdeye General Food Corporation.
