
MRS. EARNEST B. DROST, JR.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attractively gowned in white slipper satin en train fashioned with a fitted bodice, long, sleeves and a yoke trimmed with lace. Her finger tip veil was caught on either side of the crown with clusters of seed pearls. She carried a white Bible topped with roses and streamers decorated with bridal bouquet and baby's breath.
Maid of honor was Miss Jeanette Gregg, sister of the bride, who was gowned in a lavender marquisette over lavender taffeta with a lace bodice. She wore a shoulder length veil attached to lavender flowers to match her gown and carried a spray of pastel gladioli decorated with a large bow to match her gown also.
The bridesmaids were Miss Ruth Hagestrom, East Providence, R. I., who wore a lime gown with net over taffeta and Miss Dawn Barnes, who wore a pale pink gown with net over taffeta. They both wore shoulder-length veils attached to a headpiece of flowers to match their gowns also. They both carried a spray of pastel gladioli decorated with large bows to match their gowns.
The flower girl was Cynthia Sand, daughter of the pastor, who wore an aqua gown and flowers in her hair. The ring bearer was Seldon Wheeler, nephew of the bride.
The best man was Edward Skane a former classmate of the couple. Ushers were Haldor Gregg, brother of the bride and John Ackerson, Jr., of Mars Hill.
Wedding music was played by Mrs. Margaret Harris. Mrs. Eileen Sperrey, sister of the bride, sang "Because'' before the bridal party marched into the church and just before the ceremony she sang "Together." At the close of the ceremony she sang "Savior Like A Shepherd Lead Us."
Mrs. Gregg, mother of the bride, wore a sheer navy dress with white accessories and a corsage of gladioli.
A reception was held following the ceremony, in the church dining hall, which was decorated with lavender and white with baskets of flowers.
The guest book was in the charge of Mrs. Edward Skane and the gift table was in the charge of Mrs. Osborne Gregg, sister-in-law of the bride, Miss Dorothy Churchill and Mrs. Grace Parker.
Assisting in serving were Pauline Gregg, Alice Harris, Puanita Cameron. Adine Wheeler, Winnefred Boulier, June Allen, Kathleen Conley, Martha Wilcox and Evelyn Wright.
LEAVE ON TRIP
The couple left on a brief trip. For traveling the bride chose a printed crepe dress with white accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. They plan to enter the ministry soon.
The bride was graduated from Washburn high school and from Zion Bible Institute in May. The bridegroom was graduated from Port Jefferson high school, Long Island, N. Y., and also was graduated from Zion Bible Institute last May.
