WASHBURN, Dec. 9 [1951] -- Miss Patricia E. Doody, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Whitfield Doody, became the bride of Donald Tarbox, son of Mrs. Melissa Tarbox and the late Ray Tarbox recently. Rev. Renhard Sand, pastor of the Pentecostal church, officiated at the double ring ceremony which was performed at the Pentecostal parsonage.
The bride was attired in a navy blue suit with navy and gold accessories and wore a corsage of white poms. Her only attendant was Miss Shirley Dyer, and she wore a lavender taffeta dress with black accessories and complimented her attire with a white pom corsage.
Elwood Doody, brother of the bride, was best man.
Mrs. Doody, mother of the bride wore a dress of blue satin with matching accessories and wore a corsage of red roses.
Mrs. Tarbox, mother of the bridegroom, was attired in a purple dress and wore a corsage of yellow poms.
Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the town hall and there were 150 guests present. Miss June Brooker was in charge of the guest book and presiding at the gift table were Miss Marjorie Tarbox of Perham and Mrs. Coy Doody and Mrs. Stewart Doody, of Presque Isle.
The table was arranged with the wedding cake which was made by Mrs. Ernest Sponberg and she also cut the cake after the traditional slice had been cut by the bridal couple.
Others serving Were Miss Kay Doody, Betty Doody, Nanalee Humphrey, Jolita Humphrey, Paula Deeves. In charge of refreshments were Mrs. Glenna Deeves, Mrs. Hazel Sponberg, Mrs. Elsie Clayton, Mrs. Faye Brooker, Merle Deeves and Kenneth Grant.
Out-of-town guests included Miss Gloria Norsworthy, Miss Ruth Knox, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Good, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Pendexter Mrs. Philip Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Coy Doody. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Doody of Presque Isle, Miss Marjorie Tarbox, Mr. and Mrs. Forest Tarbox of Perham, Mrs. Cheslea Gray of Bangor.
Mrs. Tarbox attended Washburn high school and Mr. Tarbox attended the Dover schools. At present he is employed by the Taterstate company. They are residing in Washburn.
